Isabella Geriatric Center Household sharps disposal program is a free community service.

Household sharps include needles, syringes and lancets. If any of these items are thrown away in household trash, they create a risk of injury and blood born disease for sanitation workers and for community residents.

Isabella Geriatric Center provides safe disposal of household sharps.

To dispose of sharps properly, please comply with the following guidelines:

- Place the sharp item (s) in a leak and puncture-proof container with a screw top.

- A bleach or laundry detergent bottle works well.

- Do NOT use a soda bottle or a coffee can.

- Tape over the screwed-on cap and bring the bottle to the officer at the Security Desk of Isabella Geriatric Center at either:

515 Audubon Avenue
New York, NY 10040

or

525 Audubon Avenue
New York, NY 10040

- Isabella Geriatric Center's Household Sharps Disposal Program is open from 8:00 am to midnight, every day.
